Dr. Harvey Milkman was in Iceland last year working again with Dr. Inga Dóra Sigfúsdóttir who is one of the co-authors of the Icelandic Model for teenage substance abuse prevention.

Dr. Milkman writes:

"Iceland may be the world’s most progressive country at reducing teenage substance abuse. In the more than 4 decades that I have studied, researched and written about substance misuse, I have not seen a more promising approach."

There have been other recent instances of stories about the work done by Dr. Sigfúsdóttir and her colleagues in Mosaic Science by Emma Young which also appears in the Atlantic.

It would be excellent if work like this continues to get out into the main stream media and that it begins to influence how other countries handle treatment and prevention.
